KL Rahul will be leading the team in the T20I series against South Africa, despite Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli being given rest before the tour to England. Irfan Pathan, a former India cricketer, believes that Ravi Shastri would have done it in the past as Kohli was captain. Coach Rahul Dravid would have provided the new template for KL Rahul. Irfan Pathan, a former India cricketer, believes that if Ravi Shastri did it in the past when Kohli was captain, coach Rahul Dravid would have given the new template to KL Rahul.

Star Sports' Pathan stated that it was extremely important and that clarity would have been provided. "I have been saying that Rahul Dravid has come to me as a coach. I have played under his captaincy. His biggest thing is the clarity in his role." Also read - Virat Kohli back as captain or Rishabh Pan? He said: "It's not that the previous coaches haven't done that, Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli were there, but he [Dravid] will take it one level ahead. I have full belief the communication would have happened and KL Rahul would have been told that if he is the captain, it means he is the next in line." T20I games in India for 2022 will be crucial for the preparations for the T20 World Cup. Management would work to select the players to board the flight to Australia.

One senior player could be out of the England squad for the 2022 T20 World in Australia with the arrival of Liam Livingstone. Morgan's poor form is to blame for this as he suffered a terrible run against the Netherlands, where he scored backward ducks and was forced to withdraw from the third match. His competition Livingstone is waging war. He not only had a great IPL but also helped England to reach the world record of 498 runs in the first ODI against The Netherlands.

Mark Butcher, an ex-england cricketer, said that Morgan is unlikely to play in the T20 World Cup. He said he would be shocked.

"I cannot see it honestly because Liam Livingstone must be in that side. The strength of that squad's striking power means that there isn't enough room for someone to just be captain, no matter how great that captain may be.

"I would be shocked if he tried to make it to the 2023 World Cup. It's not because there are two ducks against the Netherlands. Who cares? It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Butcher said that they are now three years later and he is still going."

Morgan was at the forefront England's white ball revolution and helped them win the 2019 Men's Cricket World Cup. "Look, he'll likely prove us all wrong, come home, great form, and be in great shape to lead the side in next year's cricket world cup, but that seems like a wild fantasy at the moment, doesn't he? Butcher concluded.

Morgan endured a terrible run with the bat, even in the IPL, where he helped them to the second spot in IPL 2021. However, his dry run saw KKR release Morgan and replace him earlier in the year with ShreyasIyer.

Bhuvneshwar, an Indian veteran pacer, will assume the role of vice-captain for the series against Ireland. Batter Suryakumar Yadav will be making a return from a wrist injury, while Rahul Tripathi will likely don the Indian jersey. Suryakumar's return is sure to be a huge boost for the Men in Blue, who were missing him in the middle order in their recent five-match T20I series with South Africa.

After the fifth match was called off because of rain, the series between South Africa and India ended at 2-2.

As they prepare for the Test match against England, big names such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bamrah won't be participating in the series against Ireland.

Jamie Overton stated that he was comfortable fitting in to an England team, which is committed to keeping fans "on their edge of their seats", as he continued his impressive Test debut at Headingley.

Although the tall fast bowler was given a cap to replace James Anderson, that didn't stop him from playing in the series finale against New Zealand.

Overton stated that it was good fun. "I was disappointed to be leaving 97, but I feel that I have contributed to the team.

"Ben Stokes is an entertainer for all and he stated in the changing room that Jonny and I had kept the crowd on their toes."

Overton said, "I like to think that I'm quite entertaining cricketer," adding Azeem Rafiq joined the crowd as the ex-spinner returned to Headingley after publicly claiming he was racially abused during his time with Yorkshire team-mates.

In the 12 months that have passed since Kane Williamson's victory over India in the inaugural World Test Championship final, Kane Williamson, New Zealand's captain has suffered from an elbow injury. He was also ruled out last week of the second Test with Covid-19.

New Zealand has not won any Test series in the last year. Their star batter failed to score a fifty.

Williamson looked more confident Saturday, though, as he made 48, including eight fours, and seemed to be growing in confidence.

The story was told by a howl from Williamson, who was normally reserved when he was caught behind Matthew Potts.

"He's been in the side over the past wee while, and I'm sure that he'll feel frustrated with how it turned out today," Trent Boult from New Zealand left-arm paceman said. Boult had caused England's collapse by taking out all three of their top players in a stunning burst.
